The Race

It wasn't going so well, I kept resting and slowly falling back to sleep too many things on my mind like how could I possibly green the race. The greening of the race would fail dismally, but I see things as not working very well when they may be in fact working fine. So how can I come up with something to show whether or not it is working fine. Standards are needed, I want and need some form of rubric.

The race itself, I kept in it competing against the same person for almost two and a half miles, and then suddenly I just didn't want it, it wasn't as bad as other times. I stayed engaged far better then other times, however I didn't get it. I should have wanted it more.

17:10 it is a PR, it is the best time in years and yet it is still not under 17:00, and as such I am annoyed.

On the flip side there was no compost material collected, plenty that could have been I have no estimates there. Roughly one recycling container of plastic bottles and cans was filled, I estimate that this was not close to the whole amount that was used. The Nike Re-use a Shoe collection didn't seem to even raise questions. I guess I need to have a better estimate, a better feel for how exactly this system works.

I have started a compilation of how to best hit the goals, and that is it I need the rubric so that I have some feel for how far things should be hit.

Upcoming Elections: Vote for the Environment

Vote for the Environment.

How do you know who to vote for. Listen to them, listen to the between the lines situation. Politicians are good liars, and so are the new breed of Corporate leader turned Government lap dogs. You need to discern which of the losers are the better man, and deal with them straight up. I also believe in writing them letters, advising them that they may even wish to go to hell. While these types of letters will not do anything besides get some frustration out of you and also possibly increase the likelihood that FBI or Secret Service or some other law enforcement body comes into your house it should do you an overall benefit.

In all reality though being civil, is being the best. We need active thinkers, who are trying to find things to make the world better and keep at it. If it cannot be sustained by us in practice, then it isn't sustainable.

Why?

I thought you were a savvy intellectual. No worries, none at all. I'll bring you through it and save your face.

The Planet we are on, the environment we are in is there and keeps us breathing. It keeps us alive, it keeps us well.

Some humans have this human centric view, very similar to the geocentric belief structure of the planets. Where everything revolves around the humans, instead of everything revolves around the environment. We know that the geocentric belief was just a belief and that the sun is the center of our system, and our sun is not even the center of this galaxy let alone the universe. So once again we humans, are part of the environment are part of this world, and as such we depend upon the other systems of this environment for water, food, energy, oxygen and to put it simply life.

So please, vote for the Environment!

Rest well, best all,

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween and
Be Safe.

I'd also like to address packaging. Trick or treating comes with a huge amount of packaging. Packaging all those small things in small packages is more packaging then the equivalent volume of candy in one large package. However because it isn't safe to do, we have all this waste...

As such I will be Boycotting the candy portion of Halloween, though I will be having a bit of a treat as I have Track Workout Tonight!

Rest well, Best all

U.N.S. Earth S.O.S.

. . . - - - . . .

There is this ship U.N.S. Earth that a lot of people are on, a few billion in fact. As far as I know it, you are too. The strange thing isn't that there is a leak, but that we keep discussing if it is there and it has been known for decades. However instead of doing anything, everyone seems to stand around look at it, and then discuss how it isn't truly a leak. It has grown over the generations, it was small and now it is large, and it will only get larger.

. . . - - - . . .

How can you do something? Start bailing or start plugging! And please stop discussing, it is there you've seen it, and stop lieing to others that it doesn't exist.

. . . - - - . . .

Ride a bicycle, because cars cost a lot and are only going to get more expensive.

. . . - - - . . .

Buy energy credits for Solar, Wind, Hydro or possibly even Geothermal power.

. . . - - - . . .

Eat Local, Organic, or at least Fair-trade, and those are listed in priority. Local is far more important then Organic, but if Organic is the only thing other then conventional exports or even California or Florida foods then go Organic, and finally Fair-Trade if possible do it. This is especially important for coffee drinkers, because coffee is an exported to us.

. . . - - - . . .

Reduce, reuse, and recycle, and always close the loop. Once again these are listed in priority. Do you need it, is it just going to be another bothersome thing, another thing to take more of your ever used day. Let us face it, most things being sold are just like that. Stay away from them. Reuse, especially containers plastic is stronger then steel in a weight to weight comparison. As such plastic needs to be used for a larger life then anything with steel. If your just going to throw away plastic, please stay away from it. That goes for everything else as well, throw away is terrible. I understand you don't want it in your backyard, your a Not In My Back Yard [NIMBY], and so is everyone else, so start being a Not In Anyones Back Yard [NIABY]. Finally when things do get used to their end of their life recycle them so that a new thing may be made and used. Closing the loop is if your holding on to things to reuse, reuse them do just store them. If you need to buy something find this something with Post Consumer Recycled [PCR] content.

1% For the Planet

My 1% for the Planet

-25 years of volunteering is about 2,192 hours.

-1 year (365.2422 days) equivalent to volunteering for about 88 hours.

-1 hour is equal to donating 20USD.

Here I will tell you of how I meet these requirements personally. Perhaps you too will join in the cause and try to make the world a better place. Remember not just for us, but for our children, for tomorrow.

Rest well and Thanks,
Andrew M Marconi
